Feleena's
In New Mexico , many years ago, there in a shack in the desert, one night in a storm. Amid streaks of lightnin' and loud desert thunder. To a young Mexican couple, a baby was born; Just as the baby cried, thunder and lightnin' died. The Moon gave it's light to the world and the stars did the same. Mother and Father, both proud of the daughter that heaven had sent them, Feleena was her name.

Let's be honest - during the winter months in Ottawa, everyone could use a taste of Mexico.

The grey slush, bitter cold and icey roads are enough to make anyone long for margaritas, sombreros and mouth-watering tacos served under the sun.

Well, we've got great news! At Feleena's, you can have all the flavours of Mexico all year-round... No packing, flight or travel insurance necessary!

Located at 742 Bank St. in the Glebe, Feleena's, specializing in authentic Mexican cuisine, was opened in 1992 by the founders of Mexicali Rosa's.

Still owned and operated by husband-and-wife team Clyde Ross and Ann McGarry, this eclectic, vibrant and energetic restaurant is truly a gem in dining experiences.

The best part about Feleena's? Executive chef Peter Karridge's nightly specials - unique every day! We never know what Mexican-inspired dish he'll create, but it's sure to be an instant hit. With more than 60 years experience combined in the kitchen, we guarantee you've never tasted anything like it.

If you want authentic Mexican cuisine in the heart of Ottawa, we're the spot. Bring your whole family, and be sure to ask for owner Ann's skeleton treat box for the kiddies.

So come in and take a seat on one of our unique, custom-designed and hand-painted chairs, or relax after work at our bar and enjoy our signature red sangria, real lime margaritas or one of our 30 different premier tequilas.

Don't have time to come in and sit down? That's okay, we do take-out! Just call 613-233-2010 and pop by to place an order. And we now feature hand-held burritos for only $7.95 - a Mexican shawarma!

Either way, we can't wait to serve you and dazzle your friends and family with our exceptional food, cozy atmosphere and perfected service. See you soon!

"Feleena (From El Paso)" is a song written in 1966 by Marty Robbins about a beautiful Mexican girl who runs away from home and becomes a paid dancer. She falls in love with a cowboy in El Paso who is very jealous of her flirtatious ways. He dies in a gunfight stemmed by his jealousy, and Feleena kills herself to be with him in spirit.
