Heart & Crown - Preston Street
The most beautiful pub in the city with rich mahogany wood, a circular copper bar and all imported tables and chairs makes this pub truly inspired by Ireland. The Heart and Crown Preston has the largest patio on Preston St that wraps around the building, a great place for lunch or dinner or to admire the hustle and bustle of Preston. An obvious Italian stronghold in the area, it was originally the settlement of Irish immigrants. Heart & Crown - ByWard Market
The Heart & Crown ByWard has been in operation since April 1992. It opened as a 50 seat restaurant with a 30 seat patio.
Five years later, the company doubled in size when the Snug Pub was opened and attached to the Heart & Crown - quickly becoming a favourite spot for Irish regulars. In 2001, the company quadrupled in size when the Mother McGintey’s and Black Rose pubs were added and connected to the others. In 2011, the Heart & Crown grew once again when another pub was added to the fold. Peter Devine's, located directly beside the Heart & Crown, is a dedication to the hard working Irish-Canadians that helped build Bytown into the bustling community it is today. The Irish Village now stretches a city block in the Historic ByWard Market in the heart of Canada’s greatest city, Ottawa.
Currently, the Heart and Crown ByWard consists of 5 pubs under 1 roof with 6 patios that catch the sun at all times of day; there is no bad seat!
